Last updated: 24 July 2026
Product packaging takes priority over this general guide. Follow any different instructions shown on the label.
8.1 Frozen Ready Soups
- Place in the freezer promptly after delivery.
- Keep frozen at -18°C or below where stated on the packaging.
- Do not refreeze after the product has fully thawed.
- Once thawed, keep refrigerated and consume within 2 to 3 days, unless the label states a shorter period.
- Check the lid and container before use. Do not use if damaged, leaking, swollen or otherwise unsafe.
8.2 Defrosting
Defrost in the refrigerator overnight or use a microwave defrost setting suitable for the container and product. Never leave frozen food at room temperature for longer than necessary.
8.3 Saucepan heating
- Transfer the soup to a suitable saucepan.
- Heat over medium heat for approximately 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Ensure the food is piping hot throughout before serving.
- Allow it to stand briefly and take care to avoid burns.
8.4 Microwave heating
- Transfer to a microwave-safe container unless the packaging expressly states it is microwave safe.
- Loosely cover and heat in intervals, stirring between intervals.
- Heating times vary by microwave power and quantity.
- Ensure the food is piping hot throughout before serving.
8.5 Fresh food
Refrigerate fresh food promptly where it is not eaten immediately. Follow any use-by, refrigeration and reheating instructions supplied with the order. Reheat only once unless specific guidance says otherwise.
8.6 Safe serving
Use clean utensils and avoid cross-contamination. Take extra care when serving children, older people, pregnant people or anyone with a weakened immune system. If in doubt about safety, do not consume the product.
